Start the Year Slowly
š. . ā¦starting this year slowly.
I think that might be my theme for 2024.
To slow down.
Lean back in my chairā¦
Andāin-between sprints of productivity & creationāto continue to hone my skills for ::REST::
ā23 was a wild ride.
ā¦an experimental ābreak from boozeā led to a monumental epiphany which turned into a rekindled lifeās purpose. (whoops? š
)
Like a transformational gauntlet of growth and changeā¦
And as I settle into the acceptance [dare I say excitement? š§] that this is now a *lifelong* journey of expansion, Iām starting to see some themes emerge for this [deeper] work.
A key theme for me right now, clearly, is rest. š¤
And, while it seems fairly āobviousā⦠for a long time, for me, my definition was all wrong.
The things I used to do to ārestā were more like avoidance and distraction⦠I wasnāt actually giving my body & mind the repair it needed.
(And, as a result: I was completely exhausted.)
My wish for you this year is to give yourself permission to really rest. To investigate what that means for you, and to start finding little ways to turn the dials of your life šļø
To start finding your own balance.
If all this is possible for me, I *know* that itās possible for you.
For now: just take a deep breath. Close your eyes.
Youāve got this.
