Certified Alcohol Freedom & Burnout Repair Coach

Jamie Phillips, alcohol freedom mindset coach, sitting at a wooden table holding a coffee mug and smiling

Hi! I’m so glad you’re here. I help kind-hearted humans drink less alcohol, explore sober-curious living, and build healthier ways to manage stress using a compassionate, science-backed approach.

My goal is to make drinking less feel natural and sustainable… no labels, white-knuckling, or 12-step programs required.

As a corporate-run-away and recovering people-pleaser-over-achiever, I fully understand the pressure-cooker of "success" and the stress and anxiety that so often result. I know what it’s like to look successful on the outside while quietly unraveling on the inside.

With sincere compassion and understanding, I’m on a mission to help gentle humans to rest, repair, and reignite their inner spark. ✨

How Drinking Less Healed My Burnout

Aka: Whoops. I accidentally quit drinking and found happiness.

I was already feeling burned out, run down, and disenchanted with my life... and then the Pandemic hit.

My stress and anxiety skyrocketed, and my general aversion to what felt like ‘the worst of humanity’ deepened and darkened.

I wasn’t prepared for that darkness...
I didn’t know how to cope.

Everyone has tips to manage stress: take breaks, try yoga, take a deep breath… and even bigger things like: take lunch, take a vacation, and for gawdsakes breathe!

But those tools were no longer working for me. ...nothing was helping.

Drinking to Cope With Stress

I knew I was drinking too much… more than I “should.” I knew it was damaging my health in a scary, serious way. Diagnosed with an autoimmune disease in my 20’s, I was extremely health-conscious and disciplined during the day, and inadvertently undoing all of that hard work with cocktails and wine every night.

But… I didn’t want to stop.
Alcohol was my “one joy,” my only crutch in this chaotic life–it was the only thing that made me feel “better.”

Living for Happy Hour

I was drinking to cope with the stress of my job, the stress of the news… it was my reward at the end of the day. I was living for Happy Hour, and anything that didn’t involve cocktails or wine was quickly crossed off the list. Boring!

What I didn’t know was that is exactly how alcohol works! It hijacks your brain and body and places itself at the top of the list. All other activities pale in comparison… like: chemically. biologically.

I had a sneaking suspicion that something was out of balance. I knew that alcohol was causing damage, but I was also certain that I didn’t want to face life without it.

A Sober-Curious Experiment

A text from a friend one day who mentioned that she was going to try “an experiment” — a supported break from alcohol — struck a chord. I knew there was something here for me to learn...

I followed that little voice that said “I wonder?”
…and I’m so deeply grateful that I did.

What Changed When I Stepped Away From Alcohol

In stepping away from this unhealthy substance long enough to reset the physical and emotional cycles of craving-coping-exhaustion, I started to feel like myself again. …in a remarkably short period of time.

Setting aside alcohol was the giant domino that started a transformational chain-reaction. It changed my life.

Writing this today, I am in better health (both physically and mentally) than I’ve been in years. I’ve lost weight, my wrinkles have seemed to reverse(!?), and when I meet my eyes in the mirror… I smile.

I didn’t realize that I avoided my own eye contact before.

Finding Stability, Hope, and Inner Strength

Now, I’m not saying that life is all sunshine and rainbows, but I now feel so much more capable of handling the hard stuff when it comes… like I’m standing on solid ground. I’ve found an anchor within myself that I never had before.

My anxiety is gone. Prescriptions discontinued. I no longer lie awake in the middle of the night with worry and dread. And when I wake up in the morning, I feel rested and, it’s still surprising to say, optimistic.

I have regained my access to hope.

Helping Others Reclaim Their Joy

Not only have I recovered from burnout, but I’ve re-discovered a sense of purpose, joy, and inspiration. Setting aside alcohol was just the beginning…

Alcohol was the wolf in sheep’s clothing and the wool over my eyes. I am so grateful to have made the journey back to my truest self.

I would be honored to show you the way.

Certified Coach | TNM Institute

The methodology of This Naked Mind Institute is revolutionary and unmatched in both its effectiveness and compassion. With a focus on emotion and mindset (in stark contrast to the usual behavior-based framework) possibilities for growth are endless.

Rooted in Affective Liminal Psychology, this approach works at the subconscious level where emotions, beliefs, and conditioned responses are formed.

Rather than asking people to control or “resist” urges through willpower, it gently rewires the brain’s neural pathways and conditioning… allowing change to occur organically, without forced abstinence or deprivation.
