“Drink Responsibly” isn’t a warning label… it’s Gaslighting!
“Drink Responsibly” is gaslighting and it makes me SO MAD. 😠
Big Alcohol has spent billions of dollars in industry lobbying to avoid putting legitimate warning labels on their products.
And it's absolutely mind-boggling how alcoholic beverages are exempt from providing consumers with an accurate understanding of the risks involved, unlike other substances like nicotine, supplements, and even my face lotion has fine print on the back!
{{ I won’t get into it here, but the broader conversation is starting to change. If you’re interested, you can ask the internet about the World Health Organization’s recent findings that no level of alcohol consumption is safe for our health. }}
My point is simple:
👉 “Drink Responsibly” purposefully puts the responsibility on the drinker, and all but erases the liability of the manufacturers of this chemically addictive substance.
Alcohol is addictive to all humans, and I’m here to tell you: if you find yourself drinking more than you planned, or even just more than you used to… it’s not your fault.
Let me say that again:
📣 IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT 📣
For far too long, society has been led to believe that over-drinking is solely the drinker's fault.
This belief comes with a sh*tload of stigma and shame, making it difficult for many of us to seek the support we need.
…it held me back for years.
Which is why I say:
🙌 F#@! the stigma!
🔬 Follow the science.
There's a growing community of sober-curious humans out here who are pointing a finger directly at alcohol.
Instead of blaming the drinker, we're promoting education & information and the invitation to try something new...
We’re flipping the script!
Creating a whole new conversation:
Let's challenge the status quo together! Follow the science, defy the stigma, and explore the possibilities...
